You will support the delivery of client work in our PPA practice. This will involve working closely with Managers, Directors and Partners to advise clients on public policy, politics, regulation, and commercial strategy. Flint’s clients want to understand, in detail, how they can build a long-term strategy to thrive in a changing increasingly uncertain policy environment.


You will work with them to deliver the best possible outcomes. Engaging closely with our UK and international clients at the most senior levels – working with Board members and Executive teams – and across a wide range of sectors. You will have the opportunity to work with other members of the Flint team to research and analyse the complex policy challenges that they face and develop options and approaches to address those challenges, backing up recommendations with wider strategic and political analysis. You will also have the opportunity to work on a range of projects as part of a mixed discipline team.


This role will involve some more administrative, organisational and research tasks to support the client teams you work with. There will also be broad opportunity to engage in substantive policy and political challenges, as well as significant scope for career progression through the company.


More broadly, you will contribute directly to the growth of our business, generating the ideas that make a difference, both for our clients and for Flint. 




We are looking for candidates from a range of background, particularly with experience working in public sector organisations, with a particular interest in individuals with direct experience working in the British Government, Parliament, Devolved Administrations, the European institutions, EU member states governments or parliaments, or a multilateral institution. Tech, tax, industrial strategy and regional policy are of a particular interest, but we are also keen to consider those from other backgrounds.


Across all roles we look for a high standard of academic achievement. For consultant level roles, we are looking for candidates with c.3-5 years’ work experience. In addition, you will have a strong track-record of sustained achievement. As part of this you will have: 

  • Excellent analytical, research and problem-solving skills – the ability to draw out the implications of complex evidence and analysis to give clear strategy and policy advice;
  • Outstanding written communication skills, with proven ability to draft clear documents for internal and external audiences with varying degrees of expert knowledge;
  • Outstanding oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex issues to non-specialists;
  • Good organisational skills including the capacity to project manage client teams including, prioritising, planning and scheduling complex tasks proactively, and comfortable working under pressure and to tight deadlines;
  • Strong interpersonal skills – a flexible approach and the ability to work well across teams, both with internal colleagues and external clients; and
  • A strong understanding of policy, politics and the public sector.
