Consultant, financial services, London or Brussels based

You will support the delivery of client work in our Markets & Investors Advisory (MIA) practice. This will involve working closely with senior team members across Flint to advise clients on public policy, politics, regulation, and commercial strategy with a specific focus on UK and EU financial services. Flint’s clients want to understand, in detail, how they can build a long-term strategy to thrive in an evolving policy environment.   Our clients include major banks, asset managers, fintechs and other financial institutions as well as alternatives, portfolio companies and corporates.

You will work with them to deliver the best possible outcomes, and across the Flint team to research and analyse complex policy challenges. You will also work closely with Partners, Directors and Managers to develop options and approaches to address these challenges, backing up recommendations with wider strategic and political analysis. There will be opportunities to engage in substantive policy and political challenges, as well as significant scope for career progression through the company.

  • Excellent analytical, research and problem-solving skills - the ability to quickly dive into new topics and draw out the implications of complex evidence and analysis to give clear strategy and policy advice
  • Outstanding written communication skills, with proven ability to draft clear documents for internal and external audiences with varying degrees of expert knowledge
  • Outstanding oral communication skills, including the ability to distil varied information and communicate complex issues to non-specialists
  • Good organisational skills including the capacity to prioritise, plan and schedule complex tasks proactively, and to comfortably work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Effective support to colleagues in building relationships, e.g. through insightful research and briefings, delivering proposals/pitches, providing initial drafts and research as required
  • Ability to take the lead on defined streams of work within client teams and projects
  • Effective time management to meet client and/or internal project deadlines
